
Founded 2026. The Girls Safety Button Club is a project-based engineering and technology program where students design, build, and present a real-world safety solution—from concept to working prototype.
Students collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to create a wearable or portable safety button that can be activated in emergency situations. The project integrates hardware, software, and app development, with a strong emphasis on social impact, innovation, and user-centered design.
This club is ideal for students interested in coding, engineering, entrepreneurship, and creating technology that protects and empowers others.
By the end of the program, each team will develop a functional prototype that may include:
A physical safety button device (wearable or keychain-style)
Embedded hardware capable of detecting user activation
A connected mobile or web application
A basic alert system (location sharing or emergency notification logic)
A 3D-printed enclosure designed for practical real-world use
The project mirrors how real safety and IoT products are developed in industry.
Programming logic for button activation and alerts
App development fundamentals (front-end + introductory back-end concepts)
