Student Political Shadowing & Civic Leadership Program
This program was established to increase youth engagement in government and public service by providing students with opportunities to observe and learn from public officials, government agencies, and civic leaders. Through a student-led organization, the initiative encouraged civic participation, leadership development, and greater understanding of public institutions.
Participants engaged in a variety of educational and community-focused experiences designed to expose them to different aspects of government, public policy, and civic engagement. These opportunities included observing public service operations, attending civic events, interacting with community leaders, and participating in outreach efforts that promoted civic awareness and community involvement.
The program helped strengthen connections between students and public institutions while expanding access to civic engagement opportunities for underrepresented communities. Participants gained valuable insight into public service and developed leadership, communication, and civic responsibility skills through direct exposure to governmental and community-based initiatives.
